An important part of the diagnostic evaluation for mental illness is the ruling out of other issues as well as utilizing current types of integrated medicine to ensure the best possible outcome. Frequent examples are:

• Ordering labwork, including Genesight testing.

• Referral for psychotherapy

• Ordering Brain Imaging (MRI/CT)

• Referral to neurology or other specialist

• Referral to other professionals for specific testing or therapy (OT/PT/ST or sleep study)
